Community Outreach Internship

A Helping Hand (AHH) offers paid and unpaid internships throughout the year that are tailored to an individual’s field of study and career goals. These include, but are not limited to, students in the following fields: public relations, business, communications, marketing, nonprofit management and public health. AHH is a respected service learning site, and participants include undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students.

Interns learn the inner workings of a nonprofit organization and work on projects related to the student’s career interests. Former interns have produced:

  • Newsletters
  • Brochures
  • Press releases
  • Annual reports
  • Database analysis
  • Direct mail analysis
  • Social media content

There are opportunities for creative individuals with writing, organizational, communication and technical skills to make a lasting impact on our organization and gain valuable career experience. If the student is seeking course credit, it is his or her responsibility to initiate the process.

AHH is an approved federal work-study site and can employ students through this federal program. If a student is selected for a position, it is the student’s responsibility to receive approval from the university or college office of financial aid and to supply us with any necessary paperwork.

Please contact us for information about applying for an internship. We will send you an application if your experience and interest match the expectations of our internship program.
