AHH Honored with Award from Orange County Disability Awareness Council

The Orange County Disability Awareness Council (DAC) recently presented A Helping Hand (AHH) with the Special Service Recognition Award at their 30th anniversary and awards banquet, which was held on Oct. 8, 2010.

AHH, which is only one of two organizations ever selected for the award, was chosen for the many years of service that the organization has provided to the community and the council. AHH will be considered for the Governor’s Volunteer Awards in the future for receiving the Special Service Recognition Award.

Over the past two years, AHH has logged about 300 service hours with the DAC by helping in the office and personally assisting their employees.

“Our relationship has been ongoing for more than fifteen years and is predicated on services, human kindness and compassions,” said Tim Miles, chief operation officer and liaison to the DAC board.
